QC cops nab gunman shortly after shooting boy dead
Quezon City policemen on Wednesday have arrested a man shortly after he allegedly shot dead a 14-year old boy in Novaliches.
Quezon City Police District chief Guillermo Eleazar said suspect Ansari Egbow, 26, was arrested by officers on patrol as he was running towards Quirino Highway.
According to Eleazar, the boy was playing with his friends at about 12:45 p.m. at Geronimo St., in Barangay Sta. Monica, when Ansari suddenly appeared and opened fire. The boy was shot in the upper abdomen, Eleazar said.
“The victim ran but Ansari chased and shot him again several times until the boy fell on the ground, bloodied,” Eleazar said.
Eleazar said the boy was rushed to Novaliches District Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.
“The fleeing suspect who was still holding the gun, was spotted by patrolling cops who chased and arrested him,” he said.
