Fire destroys 2 commercial buildings in Iligan City

ILIGAN CITY — A firefighter was slightly injured in a fire that broke out and razed two commercial buildings at the corner Aguinaldo and Badelles Streets here on Wednesday afternoon.

The fire occurred some 150 meters away from the main station of the Bureau of Fire Protection here.

Iligan City Fire Marshall Butch Baulete told the Inquirer that the fire, which quickly spread, was reported at around 2:30 p.m.

He said support fire engines from the towns of Linamon, Kauswagan, Bacolod, Balo-i ,Kolambugan, Tubod in Lanao del Norte and fire trucks from Marawi City helped put out the fire.

“We still conducting investigation on the cause of fire and assessment of damage,” Poblete said. /atm
