Tricycle driver stabs, kills son in Pangasinan
DAGUPAN CITY-A tricycle driver on Saturday (Feb. 3) stabbed and killed his 13-year-old son for no apparent reason in Villasis town in Pangasinan province, police said.
Jean Dave Evangelista, a Grade 6 pupil, did not make it to the hospital alive after suffering multiple stab wounds on his chest and left hand, according to SPO4 Jorland Salcedo, Villasis police investigator.
Evangelista was sleeping at home in Barangay (village) Poblacion Zone 4 when his father, Pablito Evangelista, 47, stabbed him with a kitchen knife about 2:40 a.m., he said.
Jean Dave is the youngest in a brood of four.
A few hours before the incident, Pablito was seen entering and exiting their compound by relatives, who were attending the wake of his sister, Marcelina Aganon.
Pablito was seated with relatives near the door of their house when he suddenly stood up, grabbed a knife on the dining table and stabbed his sleeping son.
