MMDA issues rerouting plan as repair of Sevilla Bridge starts

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has issued a traffic rerouting plan for motorists who will be affected by the scheduled repair of Sevilla Bridge on Saturday, February 3.

Jojo Garcia, MMDA assistant general manager for planning, said the bridge, which connects Shaw Boulevard in Mandaluyong City and P. Sanchez in Manila City, would be partially closed to pave the way for its complete repair.

“We have been removing illegally parked vehicles and other obstructions along alternative routes for the past three weeks,” Garcia said in a statement on Friday, February 2.

The MMDA has also been closely coordinating with the local government units of Mandaluyong, San Juan, Manila and Makati to mitigate traffic,  the official said.

The agency advised motorists to take the following alternative routes:

Eastbound traffic

1. From Magsaysay Boulevard

2. From Magsaysay Boulevard

Westbound traffic

1. From Shaw Boulevard

2. From Shaw Boulevard

3. From Shaw Boulevard
