The Department of Transportation (DOTr) has started to deploy buses in Quezon City to ease the torment of commuters over the continuous glitches of the Metro Rail Transit-3 (MRT-3) trains.

In an advisory released on Thursday, the DOTr said that there would be 10 interim buses during peak hours along MRT-3 North Avenue and Quezon Avenue to give the public another option to commute to their workplaces.

The fare of the buses bound for Shaw and Ayala would be P15.00, the advisory said.

Leah Quiambao, assistant secretary for communications of DOTr, earlier said that the move to deploy buses was a “remedial measure” while the department works on purchasing spare parts for the MRT-3 trains.
