NUSA DUA—Presidential spokesman Ramon Carandang on Friday hailed election-rigging charges against former president Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, saying she was getting her “day in court”.

The warrant, issued by a Philippine court on charges that Arroyo rigged elections in 2007, was delivered to the National Bureau of Investigation, a court official said.

“We promised the Filipino people her day in court, and now she is getting it,” Carandang told reporters at an Asian summit on the Indonesian resort island of Bali.
