As the Philippine National Police (PNP) resumes “Oplan Tokhang,” PNP chief Director General Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa assured the public that the country’s police force will no longer repeat its past mistakes.

In his speech during the PNP’s 27th founding anniversary celebrations on Monday, Dela Rosa said the PNP has been working hard to revive Oplan Tokhang, this time with improved guidelines so “mistakes of the past will no longer be repeated.”

“Let me assure the Filipino people that the PNP has learned its lessons, and learned it well,” Dela Rosa said. “Mistakes of the past will no longer be repeated. We will go out and win this war.”

“We are determined more than ever to win the war on drugs. We will ensure that our community will be peaceful and free of scourge brought by the drug problem,” the PNP chief added.                       /kga
