DID YOU KNOW: 918 HIV cases recorded in October 2017

According to the latest data from the Department of Health, there were 918 new human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) cases recorded nationwide in October 2017.

It was 11 percent higher compared to the 819 cases recorded in the same period last year.

Metro Manila posted the highest number of new HIV cases in October among all regions, accounting for 35 percent or 323 cases.

In second place was Calabarzon with 17 percent or 153 cases. —Marielle Medina
