LUCENA CITY – A woman was arrested in a buy-bust operation here shortly before midnight Saturday, police said.
Senior Supt. Rhoderick Armamento, Quezon police director, said his men collared Aida Jara, 41, after she sold a small plastic sachet of “shabu” to an undercover policeman and a civilian informant in Barangay (village) Cotta at about 11:30 p.m.
Armamento said Jara was tipped off by villagers involved in the police “community mobilization program.”
Police found six sachets of alleged shabu in her coin purse and recovered the P500 marked money used in the buy-bust. The suspected drugs weighing 2.84 grams had a street value of P5,254, police said.
The community mobilization program relies on volunteers who serve as “tipsters” in the police peace and order campaign against crime. /cbb
