(Updated: Originally posted on Jan. 27, 2018) Two foreign nationals were arrested on Saturday for packing more than a kilo of shabu during a buy-bust operation in Fairview, Quezon City.
In a spot report, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) operatives arrested Abdurasid Asaali, alias Abdul, and Abdil Aziz Jaman Asaali at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday for conspiring to sell illegal drugs.
The report said the suspects were apprehended after they tried to sell a kilo of suspected shabu at the vicinity of the Commonwealth Hospital and Medical Center to a PDEA agent who posed as a drug buyer, the report said.
During interrogation, PDEA investigators learned that the two suspects are from a foreign country but details remain unavailable as of this posting.
Moreover, PDEA agents seized another sachet of suspected shabu weighing about 500 grams upon inspection of Abdurasid’s bag.
In a clarification letter to INQUIRER.net, the management of Commonwealth Hospital and Medical Center made it clear that the reported transaction did not occur inside the hospital premises.
Abdurasid and Abdil would be charged for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 before QC court, according to the report. /jpv
