Mayon volcano spewed ash and molten lava for the second time on Thursday afternoon, according to the Philippine Institute of Seismology and Volcanology (Phivolcs).
In a report, Phivolcs said Mayon spewed lava at 2:28 p.m., generating ash plume of 3 kilometers traveling west-northwest from the crater.
Moreover, the volcano ejected a 200-meter high lava fountain at 5:54 p.m., producing a 1.3 kilometer ash plume towards northwest from the crater of the volcano.
No rumbling sound was heard during the lava fountaining episodes.
The two lava fountaining episodes were the fifth and sixth to be recorded on Thursday.

Phivolcs considered as “minor” the frequent episodes of lava fountaining of the restless volcano.
The volcano’s lava fountaining events in the past few days still gave no indication of a bigger eruption, according to the agency.
