Cortes: I’ll take over Mabanto’s post

07:36 AM May 27, 2011

MANDAUE City Mayor Jonas Cortes yesterday ordered Assistant Prosecutor Bienvenido Mabanto to relinquish his post as vice chairman of the city’s traffic management board.

Cortes told reporters that he will take over pending investigation.

“I do not want to remove him because of reported regular instances of abuse. It needs due process,” he said, adding that a firm person is needed to enforce the law.
