LEGAZPI CITY—Authorities warned that ash fall may also affect Legazpi City and Daraga town in Albay province after Mount Mayon spewed out another cauliflower-type ash column Tuesday morning.
Eduardo Laguerta, Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) resident volcanologist in Albay, said the volcano belched out ash at 8:57 a.m.
He said pyroclastic flow was recorded in the Basud Gully in Sto. Domingo town.
Cedric Daep, head of Albay Public Safety and Emergency Management Office, said Daraga town and Legazpi City would possibly be affected with ash fall.
On Monday, the volcano started spewing ash with allegedly two 10-km high ash plumes which brought ash falls in Camalig, Guinobatan and Ligao City.
Phivolcs also raised the alert level over the volcano to 4, warning that a hazardous eruption may be imminent in days.# Ma. April Mier
