CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela – Two people were killed while four others were wounded when a wayward passenger bus triggered a four-vehicle smashup late Monday afternoon along the national highway here, police reported.

As heavy rains poured around 5:30 p.m. on January 22, a Dalin bus descending the curving road in Barangay (village) San Andres collided with a tricycle, killing its driver Nerwyn Manuel, 23. The impact caused the tricycle to hit a kolong-kolong (makeshift tricycle), killing its passenger Dexter Lana, 26; and a red motorcycle, Ilagan City police chief Supt. Ariel Quilang said.

Injured were David Lana, the kolong-kolong driver, and Dalin bus driver Anthony Ramos.  /kga
