About P6 million worth of donations was received by the Provincial Social Welfare Development Office (PSWDO) of Albay as the Mayon Volcano continues to pose threat in the province.

Dr. Eva Grageda, Officer-In-Charge ng PSWDO, said that the office received a total of 50 sacks of NFA rice, 5,500 family food packs, 11,000 pieces of malong, 600 blankets and 600 pieces of mats, Radyo Inquirer 990 AM reported on Sunday.

Apart from these, PSWDO also received medical donations, the report said.

Some donations were also directly donated to the evacuation centers housing thousands of evacuees residing inside the 6-to-7-kilometer danger zone.

On Sunday, more than 13,000 evacuees outside the 6-to-7 kilometer danger zone had been allowed to go home by the authorities from Albay as volcanologists considered it safe.
