Man shoots son twice for driving on wrong route
For shooting his 28-year-old son for taking the wrong route while driving, a man now faces charges of frustrated parricide and violation of the Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition.
Philip Agustin Cabrera, 51, was arrested by the police at his house on D. Varsity Street, East Fairview Subdivision, in Barangay Greater Fairview, Quezon City, on Thursday.
A report to Chief Supt. Guillermo Eleazar, Quezon City Police District director, said Cabrera had an argument with his son, Mark Gabriel, inside their car after the latter took the wrong route while driving.
When they got home, father and son got into a heated argument, the police said.
Cabrera went to his room, took his .38-caliber revolver and shot his son in the
chest. A scuffle ensued and the son was shot a second time, this time on the knee.
Responding police arrested Cabrera and seized his firearm while his son was taken to the hospital where he remains confined. —Jhesset O. Enano
