Metro Rail Transit (MRT) operations suffered a disruption on Saturday after a northbound train suffered an electrical failure.

In an advisory, the MRT management said 450 commuters were offloaded at Boni Station at 2:18 p.m. due to the glitch.

The electrical failure was possibly caused by “worn out” electrical sub-components, the management said, adding that the train was brought in to the depot for preventive maintenance.

Offloaded commuters were loaded in the next train which arrived six minutes later, according to the MRT management.
