PDEA nabs suspected MILF member for P150K worth of shabu

A suspected member of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) was arrested in Davao City after yielding a pack of shabu worth P150,000, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) reported on Friday.

In a statement, PDEA Director General Aaron Aquino identified the suspected MILF member as Abdulwanab Harlata Magangcong, alias Abdul, who was also believed to be a supporter of the terrorist Maute group.

Aquino said Abdul was arrested by joint agents of PDEA Regional Office XI and local police on Sunday, January 14, during a buy-bust operation at Gempesaw Street, Barangay 26-C, Davao City.

“Confiscated during the operation was suspected shabu weighing more or less 30 grams, with an estimated value of Php150,000.00,” Aquino said.

Abdul would be charged criminally for the sale and possession of dangerous drugs in violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 (RA 9165), the PDEA chief said. /jpv
