The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) on Thursday said search operations were underway three fishermen who were reported missing since January 15, Monday.

The fishermen, identified as Roselier Doring, Danny Toastomban and John Lloyd Toastomban, went missing after a fishing venture between the waters off Barangay Canday-Ong, Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental and Barangay Pasihagon, Siquijor, the PCG said in a statement.

The PCG said the three fishermen boarded an unregistered motor banca, painted green and white, at their home port at Barangay Pasihagon, Siquijor last Monday.

Coast Guard Stations (CGS) Dumaguete and Dapitan have launched a joint search and rescue operation to locate the missing fisherman, the PCG said. The operations were still ongoing, it added.

The PCG said all watercrafts and vessels traversing in the area were advised to report any information related to the incident.

All coast guard sub-stations were also tasked to inform local fishermen and nearby coastal villages to be on the lookout for possible sightings of the missing motor banca, the PCG said.
