DID YOU KNOW: DOH records 2,945 leptospirosis cases in 2017

A total of 2,495 leptospirosis cases were reported nationwide from Jan. 1 to Dec. 2, 2017, according to latest data from the Department of Health.

This figure was 49.1 percent higher than the 1,673 cases recorded during the same period in 2016.

There were 261 deaths due to leptospirosis nationwide last year. —Marielle Medina
