Elder evacuee found dead in Albay evacuation center

LEGAZPI CITY—An 81-year-old evacuee was found dead in one of the evacuation centers for those who were displaced by the non-explosive magmatic eruption of Mount Mayon in Tabaco City on Tuesday morning, police said.

Chief Inspector Arthur Gomez, Albay police spokesperson, identified the victim as Teodolo Precia, a resident of Purok (zone) 1, Buang village in Tabaco City.

Precia was found lifeless at Mayon Elementary School around 5 a.m. Tuesday.

Gomez said the possible cause of death was “old age.” Michael B. Jaucian
