Tacloban City announced the suspension of classes on Tuesday at all levels in both public and private schools, due to scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms.

In an advisory late evening of Monday, the city government said the suspension was part of the “continuous precautionary measure of the weather disturbance for the safety of students.”

The trough of a low pressure area (LPA) would prevail over the Visayas, according to a morning bulletin issued by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

Pagasa advised residents of the city about possible flooding or landslides brought by the moderate to heavy rain. /cbb
