Malacañang on Friday said the defeat of the Islamic State-inspired terrorists in Marawi City boosted the “excellent” trust rating of President Rodrigo Duterte in the latest Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey.
Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said Duterte has shown political will in defeating the terrorists that laid siege to Marawi City for five months.
“I think the fact that he has shown that he can exercise political will to defeat terrorists and violent extremist in Marawi; the fact that people’s optimism is at all-time high; the fact that manufacturing output is at all-time high. So all this indicate that the economy is growing as his promised,” Roque said in a televised press briefing in Valencia City, Bukidnon.
“He has promoted the rule of law against the threat of terrorism. And of course, he is winning the war against drugs,” he added.

The SWS 2017 Fourth Quarter Survey released on Thursday night showed Duterte has regained his “excellent” trust rating.
The survey revealed that 83 percent of Filipinos had “much trust” in Duterte while seven percent had “little trust” with the President.
SWS said Mr. Duterte had a net trust rating of +75 (% much trust minus % little trust, correctly rounded).
The +75 net trust rating of the chief executive was a 15-point increase from the +60 or “very good” he got from the SWS September 2017 survey.
“Except in September 2017, President Duterte’s net trust rating has been excellent since he became President,” SWS said.
