If you think snakes only belong in the jungle, you’re wrong. One man got the surprise of his life when he found a snake on his side mirror.

In Eden, Australia, a delivery man named Ted Ogier was greeted by a red-bellied black snake which suddenly appeared in his vehicle from out of the hood, then slithered to the mirror, ABC News Austra reported on Wednesday.

“It was sort of tapping on the window a couple of times because it obviously wanted to get in,” Ogier recalled upon seeing the reptile.

Several photos of the 2.5-meter long snake were then uploaded on Facebook last Tuesday by Nolan Auto Parts and Industrial Supplies, where Ogier works.

Remaining calm, Ogier called his co-worker Kai Pearse to get him a broom to remove the snake “nicely and safely” off his car, then usher it to the side of the road.

“Last night it got a bit cold down here on the South Coast, so I think he’s got up into the engine bay of the vehicle, and he sat up on the engine to keep himself warm,” Ogier thought on how the snake made it to his vehicle.

Recalling his experience, the delivery man admitted that although snakes frighten him, there is one insect that scares him more.

“Not as frightening as getting a spider on the inside — spiders are one thing I don’t like,” Ogier told the news outlet. “[B]ut I don’t like snakes either.” Katrina Hallare/JB
