LP: Bongbong should know better than to criticize PET
Liberal Party (LP) senators on Thursday scoffed at former Sen. Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. for claiming that the Presidential Electoral Tribunal (PET) was “unfair” to him in his election protest against Vice President Leni Robredo.
In a statement, Sen. Francis Pangilinan, LP president, said it was “not good to question” the PET if its decision did not favor him.
Minority Leader Franklin Drilon said Marcos should accept the poll body’s decision.
“It’s part of our judicial process. Sometimes we may get the short end of the stick but that’s the way court processes go, and as a former lawmaker, he should know better,” Drilon said of Marcos.
Sen. Bam Aquino said it was unfair for Marcos to doubt the integrity of the PET.
“Why is it [that] when the decision favored him, have you heard any complaint from Vice President Leni Robredo?” said Aquino.—CHRISTINE O. AVENDAÑO
