Cam sues Balutan for grave threats

Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) board member Sandra Cam has filed a criminal complaint against her boss, PCSO General Manager Alexander Balutan, accusing the latter of allegedly sending indirect threats to her.

The former jueteng whistleblower filed grave threats charges against Balutan before the Mandaluyong City Prosecutor’s Office after she revealed in a recent press conference that one of Balutan’s men had threatened to bomb her office.

In the complaint, Cam said she received threats on Dec. 27 and Dec. 29.

Cam said that in the afternoon of Dec. 27, her three security aides—SPO2 Prisco Onte, PO3 Mansun Igasan, and PO3 Gay Perez—were ordered to deposit their guns to the PCSO security. She said this was the first time it happened since she held office at the PCSO.

“Sinabihan ako ng aking mga security na umalis na muna sa aking opisina dahil may nararamdaman silang hindi magandang mangyayari,” Cam said.

On Dec. 29, two PCSO staff—Romilda Amago and Karen Garcia—assigned at Cam’s office saw and heard a man from Balutan’s group say: “Saan ang opisina ni Sandra Cam dito at pasabugin na (Where is the office of Sandra Cam here and bomb it already).”

“Habang pumapasok ang grupo ni retired General Balutan ay nagsasalita ang isang lalaki ng ganito: “Saan ang opisina ni Sandra Cam dito at pasabugin na” at dalawang beses niya iyong sinabi at pumasok na sila sa opisina ni Chairman Corpuz,” Amago said.

(While the group of retired General Balutan entered the premises, one of the men said something like this: Where is the office of Sandra Cam and bomb it already.)

Cam also claimed that she had received calls from unidentified callers “while laughing like a devil and uttering the words “Malapit ka ng mawala sa mundo (You are about leave this world).” /jpv
