A member of an all-male sing and dance group was arrested for alleged possession of illegal drugs in Taguig on Friday.

Members of Taguig police community precinct 2 (PCP-2) who were conducting “simultaneous anti-criminality law enforcement operation” or SACLEO, arrested Masculados member Robin Robel, 37, and his companion Rodel Isaac, 28.

PCP-2 commander Senior Insp. Jonathan Arribe said the arrest came after police patrollers saw a maroon Toyota Vios (with conduction sticker VQ 1597) parked with its hazard lights on along M.L. Quezon Avenue in Barangay Lower Bicutan, at 1:30 a.m.

He said the police patrollers saw a topless man approached the Vios and handed over something to the driver. The man then ran away to one of the alleys when he saw the policemen approaching.

Arribe said when they approached the driver who turned out to be Robel, he introduced himself as an “artist” and member of Masculados.

When they asked what their previous transaction was about, a sachet of suspected shabu dropped from the hands of Isaac. Another sachet of shabu was seized from Isaac’s hand, totaling to 2.4 grams.

The police commander said the alleys along M.L. Quezon Avenue were drug dens, citing a number of drug-related arrests made in the area and even “agaw-droga” shootings.

Quoting Arribe, Robel said he was a “casual” drug user, using it only occasionally during late night shows.
