Man wanted in CamSur arrested in Quezon City

A man wanted for possession of illegal drugs in Camarines Sur province was arrested after he tried to apply for a police clearance at Quezon City Hall on Wednesday.

Francis Grajo, 38, was taken into custody by Quezon City Police District (QCPD) clearance section personnel after his name showed a “hit” at the system’s e-subpoena database for two counts of rape in Calabanga town.

Police said the suspect, a resident of Barangay Commonwealth in Quezon City, showed a court order to prove that the charges had been dropped following the settlement of the cases.

Upon confirmation with the Calabanga police station, however, the QCPD learned that Grajo had a standing arrest warrant issued by Calabanga Judge Pedro Redoña in 2016 for violation of Section 11 of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.

Chief Supt. Guillermo Eleazar, QCPD director, said Grajo was the 42nd suspect to be arrested while trying to apply for a police clearance in Quezon City. Jhesset O. Enano
