LEGAZPI CITY—At least 24 kilograms of suspected “shabu” (methamphetamine hydrochloride) was recovered in Matnog town in Sorsogon province on Wednesday afternoon, police said.

Senior Superintendent Marlon Tejada, director of Sorsogon Police, said Robert Galvez, 55, reported around 5:30 p.m. that he found a plastic container filled with suspected shabu along the seashore off Juag Lagoon, a tourist attraction, in Barangay (village) Calintaan.

The inventory of Matnog police revealed that the big container was filled with 24 packs of white powder in brown packaging tape weighing about one kilo each.

The recovered suspected illegal drugs were forwarded to Crime Laboratory Office for examination, Tejada added.#
