The tail-end of a cold front in the eastern section of Southern Luzon and the northeast monsoon (amihan) are the two dominant weather systems affecting the country, the state weather bureau said Thursday.

These weather systems are affecting Northern and Central Luzon, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.

Cloudy skies with scattered rain and thunderstorms are expected over the Bicol Region and Samar provinces.

The Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, and Aurora will have cloudy skies with scattered rain.

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will have cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rains.

Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rains are forecast over Mindanao and the rest of Visayas. /cbb
