LEGAZPI CITY—-Eighty-seven families or 419 individuals from four towns in Sorsogon have been displaced due to flooding as Tropical Depression ‘Agaton’s’ trough caused heavy downpour over Bicol Wednesday, the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) Bicol said.
At least 45 families from two villages in Casiguran town make up more than half of the number of evacuees in the province. 18 families in Juban, 15 in Gubat, and nine in Sorsogon City have also been forced to evacuate.
The continuous rain has caused flooding and landslides since Tuesday, according to a report by OCD Bicol. Five other towns in Sorsogon recorded flooding but no evacuations were made.
In Irosin, Macawayan village became unpassable to light vehicles due to flooding.
In Castilla, three bridges going to Tomalay village were also inaccessible due to the swelling of a river.
In Magallanes, roads going to Sorsogon City have also been flooded, making it hard for vehicles to pass through.
In Bulusan, a spillway in Barangay Sapngan has flooded the area.
