Firearms cache: Ex-Cagayan cop nabbed for guns

TUGUEGARAO CITY — A retired police officer was arrested by the police on New Year’s Eve after he was caught trying to flee with a cache of weapons and bullets.

Police said they were on the lookout for retired Chief Insp. Juancho Alobba after he was linked to an indiscriminate firing incident on Sunday night.

Domestic violence

They found a carbine rifle and an Ingram machine gun, a .45-caliber gun and several cartridges of assorted bullets inside Alobba’s car in Barangay Pengue Ruyu.

the guns and bullets, said Supt. Eduard Guzman, city police chief.
