Gunmen take P4M in Pasay hotel robbery

Armed men robbed a hotel in Pasay City before dawn Tuesday and took P4.1 million in cash and valuables from the hotel and some guests, who included an overseas Filipino worker (OFW).

Based on the report by the Southern Police District (SPD), the suspects took P33,000 from the Mabuhay Manor hotel along FB Harrison Street. They also took the .38-cal. revolver of the guard on duty, a certain Jho-an Jabagat.

Among those robbed were OFW Dominador Castro and his family, who were guests at the hotel. The Castros reportedly lost $15,800 cash, gadgets worth $7,000, one Rolex wristwatch worth $30,000 and jewelry.

The incident was caught on the hotel’s closed circuit TV system, which showed the heist starting at 3:19 a.m.

Later, the robbers fled toward Roxas Boulevard on board a black Hyundai Starex van. /cbb
