Playing with firecrackers? It’s not worth it, says Duque

Health Secretary Francisco Duque III said “it’s not worth it,” to risk your life or a limb for a momentary pleasure of playing with firecrackers.

Duque said there is always that possibility that something could go wrong when lighting up a firecracker, and the consequence could be life-long sufferings.

The health secretary said even if full medical assistance will be provided for by the government, it is not worth to take the risk.

“Yung bayad kahit na hindi problema, pero yung panghabambuhay na kapansanan, kapag kayo po ay naputulan ng daliri o kamay ay pati edukasyon ng inyong anak ay maaapektuhan dahil hindi na po iyan makakasulat o mahihirapan na yan magsulat,” he said.

(Even if you don’t worry about the hospital bills, but the life living in disability when you lose a finger or hand, the education of these children will be affected because they can no longer write or use their hand to write properly.) /jpv
