CABANATUAN CITY–Two men were killed in separate gun attacks in Nueva Ecija on December 29, according to a belated police report.

Ricky Buenaobra, 47, was at a gas station filling up a tricycle when he was shot dead at 8:40 a.m. in Barangay (village) Palestina, San Jose City. He was followed there by two men riding a motorcycle. One of the assailants fired a cal. 45 pistol, police said.

In Rizal town on the same day, farmer Danilo Obando, 37, had just arrived when a man wearing a jacket and a baseball cap broke into his house and shot him several times at 7:10 p.m., according to Obando’s 27-year-old girlfriend Shiela May Santos.

The killers of Buenaobra and Obando are subjects of manhunt operations, police said, although investigators have yet to establish the suspects’ identifies as well as their motives for attacking the two men. /jpv
