Prepare to greet the New Year with umbrellas and rain gear in hand after the weather bureau on Friday said most parts of the country will be experiencing rainshowers due to the tail end of a cold front and the northeast monsoon.
In its daily weather forecast, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said the Visayas and the Bicol Region will experience cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms due to the tail-end of a cold front.
Pagasa warned residents to prepare for possible flash floods or landslides due to scattered light to moderate and heavy rain.
Meanwhile, most parts of Luzon would experience cloudy weather with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms, Pagasa said.
The northeast monsoon will cause partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rains in Metro Manila, Ilocos Region, and the rest of Central Luzon and Calabarzon. It will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains in Cagayan Valley, the Cordillera, Aurora, and Quezon.
Mimaropa and Mindanao will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers caused by localized thunderstorms, Pagasa said. The state weather bureau warned of flashfloods and possible landslides. /cbb
