Benefactors of three beneficiary groups, civic organizations and businesses with corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs are invited to watch the gala performance of tenor Sal Malaki’s “Christmas Showers of Grace” at 6 p.m. on Dec. 2 at the Cebu International Convention Center.
The gala show is for all the benefactors to support its advocacies.
“Every concert ticket bought will help the lives of young boys, the indigenous peoples, the Mamanwas of Surigao and Higaonons of Cagayan de Oro and families in Barili,” said Glenda Antonio, president and chief executive officer of Spring Rain Global Consultancy Inc., animator of the event.
“Benefactors will not only be treated to Mr. Malaki’s talent but also for them to celebrate the Christmas season by sharing blessings with their beneficiaries,” Antonio added.
Some of the beneficiaries of the concert are the 120 abandoned children at Liloan Boys Home in Liloan town, northern Cebu. They will be provided with basic needs, education, formation and development.
Another group of beneficiaries are the indigenous peoples — the Mamanwas of Surigao and Higaonons of Cagayan de Oro, who are part of the apostolate of the SSpS Sisters or the Holy Spirit Missionary sisters.
The SSpS congregation will have their centennial celebration next year and one of their priorities is to hasten the full implementation of Indigenous Peoples Rights Act (IPRA).
The concert will also help the Living the Gospel Community raise funds for the construction of a family formation center for the dysfunctional families in Nazareth, barangay Mantalongon, Barili town, southwest Cebu.
All civic organizations and businesses with CSR programs are invited to witness the event.
Tickets are at P800, P1,500 and P2,000. The ticket outlet is at Concierge, Ayala Center Cebu.
The Cebu event is the first of a three-day performance of Malaki.
The two-hour concert will have Neca Abaya Caingles as pianist and thespian Daisy Baad as director.
Malaki will perform in Bohol on Dec. 4 at the Bohol Cultural Center and at the Star Theatre, CCP Complex in Pasay City on Dec. 11.
