Judge, driver hurt in Lapu road accident
Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 5 Presiding Judge Douglas Marigomen sustained head and leg injuries after the car he was riding hit a concrete fence in barangay Gun-ob, Lapu-Lapu City, yesterday morning.
His driver, Renan Dumlos, sustained a cut in his left eyebrow and complained of chest and body pains.
They were on their way to Cebu City from barangay Suba-Basbas in Lapu-lapu when they met an accident.
Dumlos told the police he tried to evade something but he lost control of the Kia sedan and hit a fence.
Marigomen who was seated in the front seat hit his head on the windshield upon impact. The car was severely damaged.
PO1 Cesar Gabule, traffic investigator of Lapu-Lapu City Police Office, said it was possible that Dumlos was driving too fast to maneuver the car away from the obstruction he saw.
