QCPD chief backs cops tagged in brutal ‘drug kills’

Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Director Chief Supt. Guillermo Eleazar stood by his men in the midst of a report tagging as “deadliest” the city police’s Station 6 or Batasan Station.

In an interview over Radyo Inquirer 990AM, Eleazar asserted that they have a protocol in the conduct of police operations.

“Mayroon tayong protocol. Wala po tayong tinotolerate na ano mang irregularities,” Eleazar said.

The QCPD chief even pointed out that if his office received a report about irregularities, an entrapment operation is being conducted in order to apprehend the police concerned.

On Tuesday, Reuters published a story titled “Davao boys” which suggested that the policemen in QCPD Station 6 appeared to be responsible for the high number of deaths in the area in the name of the administration’s war against illegal drugs.          /kga
