Duterte visits wake of cop slain in Pasig anti-illegal drug drive

President Rodrigo Duterte has visited the wake of the policeman killed during an anti-illegal drugs operation in Pasig City.

Duterte, along with Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Director General Ronald Dela Rosa, went to the wake of Police Officer 3 Wilfredo Gueta around 1 a.m. Wednesday, Radyo Inquirer 900AM reported.

Gueta was killed on Monday afternoon during a surveillance operation along Katarungan Street in Brgy. Caniogan.

Dela Rosa awarded Gueta a posthumous Medal of Merit, the report also said.

PO1 Raymond Dela Cruz, who was wounded also during the police operation, was given the same recognition as well as a new gun by Dela Rosa.

Dela Cruz was the one who shot dead the suspect identified by the police as Roberto Llaguno.

Mr. Duterte has earlier reiterated his abomination towards illegal drugs and drug abusers, and threatened that he would eradicate all of them, the report said.         /kga
