Killer in Cavite double-murder possibly known to victims — police

“There’s a huge a possibility”

This was the word of Supt. Sandro Jay Tafalla, General Trias City police director, when asked Thursday if the killer of a seaman’s daughter and wife was known to the victims.

Ruby Gamos, 34, and daughter Shaniah Nicole, 7, were found dead inside their house at Kensington, Barangay Navarro on Tuesday. Gamos died from a blow to the head, while Shaniah Nicole was choked to death, police said.

“Malaki ang posiblidad kasi paano siya nakapasok doon sa subdivision,” Tafalla said in an interview over radio dzMM.

He said Gamos’ sister-in-law, Karen Bongalos, saw the back door open when she entered the house accompanied by a subdivision guard.

Tafalla that it would be hard for the suspect to open the back door since the victims’ townhouse was joined to other units in the subdivision.

He also noted that the house of the victims was near the guardhouse and security was strict when it comes to visitors.

“Hindi basta nakakapasok doon, kailangan mag-iwan ng ID,” Tafalla said.

However, there was no record in the guard’s logbook of any visitors of the Gamos household.
