SAN PEDRO CITY—Three houses were reportedly “washed out” after a flood protective dike collapsed in Naujan Oriental Mindoro on Wednesday, the regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (DRRMC) said.

Eugene Cabrera, DRRMC director in Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Palawan (Mimaropa), said reports reaching his office showed that the incident happened around 11 a.m. in Barangay (village) Evangelista.

No other detail about the collapse was available at the moment but he said affected families were “safe.”

The incident happened as an inclement weather persisted in the region due to Tropical Depression “Urduja.”

Cabrera said Mindoro, Marinduque, and the southern and northern parts of Palawan continued to experience light to moderate rains.
