Boxing icon and Senator Manny Pacquiao will join the latest graduates of Command General and Staff Course (CGSC) eligible to be promoted to full colonel.

An Army reservist with a rank of Lieutenant Colonel, Pacquiao is among the 187 students and reservists to finish the CGSC Class 62 on Tuesday at Camp Aguinaldo, said Lt. Commander Emerson Namoca, spokesperson of the Education and Training Command.

“It’s a great honor to be a part of the [CGSC] Class 62,” Pacquiao posted on Instagram over the weekend.

Last week, he also shared photos from his defense of his commandant’s paper, a requirement in the CGSC.

Of the graduates, 166 are military officers while 21 are reservists. A CGSC usually takes between six to eight months

“After finishing his schooling at CGSC, he is now eligible for promotion to full colonel,” Namoca said.
