3 kids killed by shrapnel from grenade they threw into flame in Davao City

DAVAO CITY – Three children were killed when a rifle grenade they threw into an open flame exploded on Sunday, the city police said.

Senior Inspector Ma. Teresita Gaspan, spokesperson of the Davao City Police Office, said the incident took place in Barangay Daliaon Plantation in Toril district on Sunday morning.

Gaspan said based on report by village officials, the children found an M203 grenade and threw it into an open flame.

He said all three children were killed as the explosive went off, sending shrapnel into their bodies. –Allan Nawal /atm
