Terrorists start recruiting new members in Mindanao—report

The local ISIS-linked terrorists are stepping up its efforts in Mindanao to recruit new members, Task Force Bangon Marawi chairperson Eduardo del Rosario said Friday.

In a press briefing, Del Rosario said they have received intelligence reports that the terrorists are offering as much as P100,000 cash just to entice local residents to become new members.

“Umuugong na ngayon sa intel reports, ang massive recruitment na ginagawa ng kabila (This info has been reverberating all over our intelligence reports), promising so much money as high as P100,000 pesos just to be recruited and be a member,” del Rosario said.

The recruitment by the terrorists is being done in Marawi City and neighboring areas, he said.
