Minor caught sneaking drugs into Tagbilaran City Jail

TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol — Jail officers of the Tagbilaran City Jail arrested a minor for attempting to sneak a sachet of shabu and paraphernalia into the police lock-up cell Wednesday afternoon.

The boy, who claimed he was only 17 years old, showed up at the facility in Barangay Cabawan, in this city, around 4 p.m. on Wednesday to visit a friend.

A report from radio station DYTR said that, the guards found a medium-size sachet with suspected shabu including plastic wrappers securely inserted inside a bath soap that the boy was to deliver to Marlon Tampus at Cell Number 4.

Tampus was detained for a drug-related case.

The seized shabu has an estimated value of P50,000, according to Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Bohol.

The boy said another friend had asked him to deliver the soap inside the detention facility.

He was temporarily detained at Tagbilaran City Police Station, the city not having a facility for minor offenders. He will be turned over to the City Welfare and Development Office.

The Tagbilaran City Jail has 429inmates. It has 12 cells for 80 persons only. /atm
