MANILA, Philippines–Rainshowers and thunderstorms are expected over the country as a low pressure area was seen northwest of Palawan, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said Wednesday.
As of 2 a.m. Wednesday, the LPA was seen 240 kilometers northwest of Puerto Princesa City, it said.
The whole country will experience mostly cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers or thunderstorms becoming cloudy with widespread rains over Central and Northern Luzon which may trigger flashfloods and landslides, Pagasa said.
Meanwhile, moderate to strong winds from the east will prevail over Central Luzon and Northern Luzon and coming from the east to southeast over the rest of Luzon and Visayas and the coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough, it said.
Light to moderate winds coming from the east to northeast will prevail over Mindanao with slight to moderate seas, it added.
