Youth group calls Gadon complaint vs Sereno baseless, waste of time
“Tsismoso ng bayan.”
(The country’s humor monger)
This was how a group of youth leaders called lawyer Larry Gadon, citing his alleged baseless grounds for the impeachment complaint he filed against Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno.
On Thursday, the Youth for Chief Justice Sereno, composed of students from different universities, assailed the case filed against the chief justice, calling it a “sham” and a waste of time and resources of the House of Representatives.
“We saw at yesterday’s hearing the two characters of Atty. Larry Gadon: a comedian… and tsismoso ng bayan,” said Peter Olivar, the group’s convenor. “He is ridiculous for passing an impeachment complaint to which he is unable to say where he obtained his information.”

During the hearing of the House justice committee on the impeachment complaint on Wednesday, the lawyer said his allegation of falsification of public documents in 2013 against Sereno came from Associate Justice Teresita de Castro. He claimed the information was relayed to him by newspaper reporter Jomar Canlas.
But moments later, De Castro issued a statement denying that she had released any information, report or document regarding the work of the high court to Canlas. /jpv
