Motorcycle-riding men shot dead ex-town dad in Pampanga
CITY OF SAN FERNANDO—A former municipal councilor of San Simon town in Pampanga province was shot dead by a motorcycle-riding gunman on Thursday.
Emelito Yambao, 56, was in front of his parents’ house in Barangay (village) Concepcion when the suspect shot him at 9:45 a.m. The victim died in a hospital less than two hours after the attack.
The gunman wore a jacket and concealed his identity using a face mask. He and a companion were riding a black motorcycle. They fled toward the San Luis-Baliuag Road in the boundary of Pampanga and Bulacan.
The motive of the killings was not yet known.
The incident adds to the 852 crimes perpetrated in Central Luzon by motorcycle-riding criminals since July 2016.
Bulacan recorded the highest number of similar incidents at 352. Nueva Ecija, 228; Pampanga, 104; Tarlac, 88; Angeles City, 38; Olongapo City, 7; Bataan, 12; Aurora, 6; and Zambales, 1. /jpv
