Two policemen were abducted by suspected members of New People’s Army (NPA) in Surigao del Norte, the military said Tuesday.

Major Ezra Balagtey, spokesperson of the Eastern Mindanao Command, said about 20 communist rebels aboard a white van snatched the policemen past 1 p.m. at a police outpost in Bad-as public market in Placer town on Monday.

The policemen, whose identities were withheld, were on duty when they were seized. They are members of Placer Municipal Police Station.
